Milk thistle is a natural flowering plant that contains silymarin, a bioflavonoid, to help support liver health.*
Milk thistle is a flowering plant with purple flowers and named for the milky white sap that is secreted from the leaves. Native to Europe, milk thistle is now found all over the world, including in North America, Australia, and Africa.
The seeds are the most common part of milk thistle used in herbal care, as they contain a bioflavonoid compound called silymarin. Each flower can contain up to 190 seeds, and silymarin is sometimes used as another name for milk thistle. Humans have used milk thistle as a supplement for over 2,000 years, originally dating back to Greece and Rome. During the Middle Ages, milk thistle was used to support liver health, and it still is today.*
Bronson Milk Thistle Extract is standardized to contain 80% silymarin per capsule to assist with cleansing and detoxing the liver.*
